If a titleholder does not meet the obligations of the title outlined in this packet, the Board will take back the title with no obligation to the titleholder. If for any reason the Board finds the titleholder unfit or unable to complete their year of service, the board will decide if the first runner up is to assume the title and duties of the titleholder. Ascending is not automatic.
Titleholders who do not complete a year of service, for reasons outlined in this packet or any others deemed by the board, will return all regalia: sashes, crowns or trophies if applicable. If items are destroyed or unavailable for return, the titleholder is responsible to make financial restitution to Show Me Pride.
All titles will be honored for one year beginning on the Night of the Royalty pageant and ending on the following Royalty Pageant Event in 2012.
Title Obligations: Royalty Pageant Titleholders will begin work with the Pride Board immediately after the pageant. Contact Widow Von'Du or M.J. Knight if you have any conflicts.
Titleholders are required to attend at least four major community events in full regalia during their title year and to organize fundraisers to encourage new contestants to enter the following year's pageant.
Attendance at Pride Fest 2012, Pride Parade 2012 and Pride's Royalty Pageant 2012 are all mandatory. Remember all titleholders past and present of Show Me Pride become our public figure heads and essentially become community role models - so please act accordingly. Your attendance at other community events is noticed. Organizing events that are not fundraisers for Pride or being a speaker at other events is also highly encouraged. Titleholders are the visible ambassadors in the community of Pride.
It is strongly recommended, although not mandatory, that titleholders support one another during their title year by attending events sponsored by the other titleholders.
Board Meetings: Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the months listed on the website at www.gaypridekc.com at 7:00 p.m. at MCC Church, 3801 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO 64111. Titleholders should try to attend meetings when available.
